A Red Cross visit began with an entrance that appeared equally likely to lead to a Conclave or a den of ill repute.

We braved a trip to Portsmouth to visit Naval & Military Conclave No. 35.

Entry was through a mysterious door in a wall. For a moment we were unsure whether it led to the meeting or somewhere with a rather different dress code.

All was well. We found the Conclave, enjoyed excellent company and survived the expedition with reputations largely intact.
